Hello, welcome to another episode of In The Studio With Calamity Jane. My name is Jodi, also known as Calamity Jane.

Our purpose with this series is to highlight women in our community doing amazing things and give them the spotlight for a moment.

Joining me today is Brandi Hoel with Sin City Moto Girls. Welcome to the show Brandi.

[Brandi]: Thank you for having me Jodi.

Tell us a little bit about about Sin City Moto Girls.

Sin City Moto Girls is a community that we built and it's a non-profit organization now. What our core value basically are, educate, empower, support. And it's just a community that we built so that we, as women, can have a place to feel comfortable and talk about our main thing in life, which is motorcycles.

How did you come to start the Sin City Moto Girls?

Well, I actually, personally it was for me because I didn't have a group community of women to ride with. I rode motorcycles for a long time and every time I wanted to have just female influences around me, I could never find any.

What do you feel makes it successful?

Actually, I think it's what makes a community successful is just other women being involved. Taking the time to care about somebody else and being there for one another, that's what helps make our community very successful.

What piece of advice would you give to a woman who's watching this, who loves motorcycles and would like to get started riding?

Well, I would definitely encourage them to join our Facebook page. We have a private group page, where women can get on there and just ask questions. And one of the main things is, I would highly recommend a basic rider course and education class before you go and jump in on huge investment with a motorcycle. You just learn all the parts of it. It's not just oh, jump on a motorcycle, I can ride motorcycles, there's a lot to it.

[Jodi]: If someone wants to join the Sin City Moto Girls, how would she go about doing that?

If somebody was interested and wanting to join the Sin City Moto Girls, it is just a community, so most importantly just have an open mind. You don't have to ride a certain bike. You don't have to dress a certain way. There's not age limit to it. It's strictly a community. It's a volunteer basis, there's no dues.

Our main things that we try to do every month, we're working on our community service, but we do a giveback. So a community service project all together as a community. We do an educational class. So education, we are huge on that, educate. And support, so we do a group ride at the end each month on Sunday called the Last Sabbath. And that brings us all together as riders.

So, it's really simple if you're interested in it definitely hop on Facebook. Join our private group page, follow us on Instagram @SinCityMotoGirls. We've always got lots of great things going on.

And now, the famous questionnaire that was asked for 26 years by the great Bernard Pivot and made famous on In The Actors Studio:

What is your favorite word?

My favorite word is Love.

What is your least favorite word?

My least favorite word is Failure. Anything that has to, has a negative outcome, I love positive words.

What turns you on creatively, emotionally, or spiritually?

What turns me on would be community. People coming together to make a huge impact on something.

What turns you off?

What turns me off... self-centered people, people that just are all about themselves.

What is your favorite curse word?

Fuck! I say it, and I say it a lot, and I can't get it out of my vocabulary.

What sound or noise do you love?

My favorite noise, of course would have to be the sound of my bike running. Revving the motor and just hearing it scream.

What sound or noise do you hate?

Snoring, I hate it. My husband does it really loud and I just wanna strangle him at times.

What profession, other than your own, would you like to attempt?

I would have to say a flight attendant. I would love to be flight attendant. If there was another chance at what I wanted to do.

What profession would you not like to do, like ever?

Probably anything in the surgery center. Just all the blood and mess. I don't know, I don't think it would organized and I'm crazy about organization.

If Heaven exists what would you like to hear God say when you arrive at the pearly gates?

Dang, you had a lot of fun! <laughter>
